Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of PrepTex, the exam revision service built and operated by LouisTech ("PrepTex", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using PrepTex you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how your data is used. If you do not agree, do not use PrepTex.

PrepTex is a service for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, buy a pass or use PrepTex. PrepTex is not designed for, directed at or intended to be used by children under 18, and children under 18 must not create an account or use PrepTex on their own. When you sign up, you confirm that you are 18 or older.

PrepTex can be used by:

• Adult students aged 18 and over, such as university, HND and BTS students, adult candidates resitting GCE, Probatoire or Baccalauréat exams, and teacher-training candidates.
• Parents and legal guardians aged 18 and over who want to use PrepTex to help their child prepare for exams.
• Teachers and tutors aged 18 and over who use PrepTex to prepare lessons and explanations.

If you are a parent or legal guardian, you may use your own PrepTex account to help your child revise (for example, to look up solutions to past questions, print PDF solutions, or go through explanations together). When you do this:

• The account is yours. It must be registered in your own name, with your own email address, and paid for by you. Do not create an account in your child's name or with your child's details.
• You stay in charge. You decide how PrepTex is used, you supervise your child while they use it, and you keep the password to yourself. Do not give your login details to your child.
• You are responsible for everything done through your account, including anything your child types, scans, records or uploads, and for making sure it follows these Terms.
• Keep your child's personal information out of PrepTex. Do not enter your child's name, photo, school, ID numbers, voice recordings that identify them, or other personal details in questions or uploads. Scan only the question paper, not pages showing a child's name or face.
• Check the answers. AI answers can be wrong; review them with your child and their teachers rather than relying on them alone.
• Printed or downloaded PDFs may be given to your child to revise from.

If we learn or reasonably believe that an account was created by, or belongs to, a person under 18, we will suspend the account and delete it together with its saved work. Payments for passes on such accounts are not refundable, except where the law requires otherwise.

If you believe a child under 18 has created a PrepTex account, please tell us at louistech41@gmail.com and we will act on it promptly.

We apply this rule because PrepTex uses AI services from Google whose terms only allow use by adults, and because PrepTex is not built with the extra protections that services designed for children must have.

PrepTex provides AI-assisted solutions and explanations for exam questions, past questions, study tools, quizzes and report-writing help for Cameroonian secondary and higher education exams. Some features are free with limits; others need a paid pass.

PrepTex uses Google's Gemini API to generate answers and Google Drive to store your files. By using these features you also agree that your content is processed under Google's Gemini API Additional Terms of Service, Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy and Privacy Policy, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Answers are generated by AI and aligned with official syllabi, but they can contain mistakes. Check important answers against your notes, textbooks and teachers. PrepTex does not guarantee any exam result.

PrepTex is a learning aid. You must not use it to cheat: do not use it during an exam, test or assessment where outside help is not allowed, and do not submit generated reports or theses as your own work where your institution forbids it. You are responsible for how you use the answers.

• Give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.
• You must be 18 or older and the account must be in your own name.
• One account is for one adult. Do not share, sell or transfer your account or pass. A parent or guardian helping their own child under supervision, as described above, is not sharing.
• You are responsible for everything done through your account.

You are responsible for keeping your email address, password and the devices you use to log in secure. Use a strong password that you do not use on other sites, never share it with anyone, and log out on shared or public devices. PrepTex will never ask for your password by email, SMS, WhatsApp or phone.

If someone gets into your account because you were careless with your login details (for example, you shared your password, used a weak or reused password, wrote it where others could see it, fell for a phishing message, or left your account logged in on a device others use), PrepTex is not responsible for that access or for any loss that results, including lost passes, lost or exposed saved work, or misuse of your account. This does not limit our responsibility for a security failure in PrepTex's own systems.

If you think someone has accessed your account, change your password and contact louistech41@gmail.com immediately. We may suspend the account to protect it while we look into it.

You must not:

• Try to break, overload, scrape or get around the limits or security of PrepTex.
• Try to make the AI produce harmful, illegal, sexual, hateful or dangerous content, or use it in any way that breaks Google's Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy.
• Upload content you do not have the right to share, or content that is illegal, abusive or contains other people's personal information.
• Use PrepTex to harass, impersonate or deceive anyone.
• Resell, copy or republish PrepTex content or solutions as your own product.

We may limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules, without refund for the time remaining on a pass.

You keep ownership of the questions, photos, recordings and materials you upload. You give PrepTex permission to store, process and send that content to our service providers (including Google) only as needed to run the service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. Do not upload sensitive personal information.

• Passes are paid with MTN Mobile Money or Orange Money at the price shown before you pay, in CFA francs.
• A pass starts when payment is confirmed and ends at the time shown on your dashboard. Passes do not renew automatically.
• Some passes include a fair-use limit on AI usage, shown on your dashboard.
• Passes are not refundable once activated. If you were charged but your pass was not activated, contact louistech41@gmail.com with your phone number and transaction ID and we will activate it or refund you.
• We may change prices for future purchases. Changes never affect a pass you have already paid for.

The PrepTex name, logo, website, software and the content we create belong to PrepTex/LouisTech. You may use solutions and PDFs for your own personal study. Past exam papers remain the property of their respective examination bodies.

We work to keep PrepTex available, but it may sometimes be slow or unavailable, for example during maintenance or when a provider such as Google has an outage. We may add, change or remove features. We will tell you about important changes to these Terms before they take effect; continuing to use PrepTex afterwards means you accept them.

PrepTex is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, PrepTex is not liable for indirect losses, exam results, lost study time, or losses caused by mistakes in AI-generated answers, by third-party services, or by your own failure to keep your account secure (see Account security and your credentials).

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid PrepTex in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms removes rights you have under the law that cannot be excluded.

You can stop using PrepTex at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing louistech41@gmail.com from your registered address. We may suspend or close your account if you break these Terms or if required by law.
